Install ssd and BIOS setting:
1. Shut down the computer before unplugging the power.

If it is a notebook computer (removable battery)we recommend removing the battery.

2. Locate the power cable of the SSD in the chassis, and connect the power cable to the power input interface of the SSD.

3. Find the SATA interface of the motherboard in the chassis. Connect one end of the SATA data cable to the SATA interface of the motherboard.

4. Connect the other end of the SATA data cable to the data input interface of the SSD.

After putting it into the case and locking the screws. Install the power supply and the laptop’s battery back on the computer and turn it on.
5. According to the screen prompts, press the corresponding key on the keyboard to enter the BIOS interface. (Different motherboards have different BIOS but can find corresponding options)

6. Select the device BOOT setting to set the installed SSD as the first priority.

7. Find the advanced mode in the BIOS, find the AHCI mode option in the hard disk mode, and turn on the AHCI mode of the hard disk.

8. Finally, refer to the motherboard manual to save and restart.
SSD improves performance, life extension-hardware, AHCI and 4K alignment.

Notebook and desktop computer motherboards usually provide SATA hard drive interfaces, but not all interfaces are high-speed SATA3.0 standards. You must check the instructions provided by the product’s motherboard, laptop, and SATA cable manufacturers. When the high-performance SSD is installed on a non-SATA3.0 interface, the reading and writing speed will be limited. Please do not use products without instructions and quality assurance. We suggest that you buy Nonotree’s Faspeed high-performance SSD, South China Gold Series motherboards and SATA3.0 standard cables.

The AHCI function can improve the execution order and the performance of the hard disk when multiple tasks are running at the same time. The AHCI function must be enabled when installing a high-performance SSD to achieve the highest read and write speeds.
The official website of AS SSD Benchmark provides the open source AHCI inspection software “AS SSD Benchmark”. We recommend using this software to check whether the hard disk is properly enabled with AHCI. (This software is released as unsecured free software under GNU Affero GPL v3)
Differences before and after AHCI is enabled: If AHCI is enabled, the AS SSD benchmark will display “OK” on the disk controller in the upper left corner, or “BAD” if it is not enabled.

A. You must check the instructions provided by the product motherboard and the laptop manufacturer, and enter the BIOS interface according to the instructions (usually press Delete or F2 when booting).

B. In the BIOS interface, find the hard disk setting option and enable “AHCI”.
C. After saving the BIOS settings, restart the computer to enter Windows.
D. If you are not familiar with the operation process, we strongly recommend that you visit your local computer retailer or service center for instructions. Or use Nonotree’s HUANANZHI series motherboards for more complete support.

A. Check 4K alignment:
The official website of AS SSD Benchmark provides the open source 4K alignment check software “AS SSD Benchmark”. We recommend using this software to check whether the hard drive is 4K aligned. (This software is released as unsecured free software under GNU Affero GPL v3)

B. 4K differences before and after alignment:
We can make comparison of the reading and accessing time for 4K alignment: After 4K alignment, the reading and writing speed got greatly improvement. As we all know, the performance of SSD depends on the reading/writing speed. As we can see, 4K alignment does help SSD to maximize its performance and speed up your PC.
Before 4K aligned
AS SSD Benchmark will show “BAD” on the left-top corner if SSD is not 4K aligned.
After 4K aligned
AS SSD Benchmark will show “OK” on the left-top corner if it is 4K aligned.
A. Nonotree does not recommend using any hard disk tool for 4K alignment. All new hard disk installations should use the genuine Microsoft Windows 10 system installation disc for new installation. If you insist on using hard disk tools, please contact the hard disk tool manufacturer of your choice. Nonotree will not be able to provide technical support.
B. Nonotree only recommends that you use the genuine Microsoft Windows 10 system installation disc for a new installation, and partition and format the hard drive normally during the installation process. You usually don’t need to make additional settings. (Microsoft has discontinued support for Windows 7 and no longer provides technical assistance and software updates to help protect the computer for this product. If you are unsure whether Windows 10 you are using is genuine, please contact Microsoft)
A. Open the task manager and check the hard disk usage caused by the application in the “Process”.
B. A computer virus may cause the problem of persistently high hard disk usage. Nonotree recommends that you install genuine anti-virus software and keep it updated.

CrystalDiskMark official website provides free SSD speed measurement software CrystalDiskMark, which can test the continuous reading and writing speed of the hard disk. We recommend using this software to understand the reading and writing speed of our hard disk.
The Test Data of CrystalDiskMark is random by default, and the Test Data option can be changed to All 0x00 in the Settings of the software because for SSDs with “Real-time data compression” control chip, the test score will be significantly influenced.
